Taegeuk Taekwondo class scheduled New River CTC

[LEWISBURG, W.Va.] A Taegeuk Taekwondo class is being offered at New River Community and Technical College’s campus in Lewisburg starting September 11, 2018. The class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 pm in the Kyle and Ann Fort Arts and Sciences Building.

Participants in the Taegeuk Taekwondo class will receive instruction and test for both the white and high white belt during the 16-week class.

The curriculum for Taegeuk Taekwondo is standardized through the Kukkiwon, headquartered in South Korea, and is approved for Olympic competition. The class will cover forms, self-defense, breaking technique and sparring combinations, as well as basic block routines, stances and kicks. There is an aerobic component to the class and minimal running involved.

Instructor Tamra Cutright holds a fourth degree black belt and is a Master of Taegeuk Taekwondo. She has over 25 years of experience in Taekwondo and has owned a studio since 2010. Cutright was appointed to be the WV State President for the Tae Kwon Do Committee and is a sparring referee and Poomsae (forms) judge.

Tuition is $408 for the class, and there is a $50 supply fee for uniforms and belts. Preregistration is required by September 4.
