Students with Disabilities

At New River CTC, we are committed to providing equal access to all students. Accessibility Services staff can help you soar higher through support and reasonable accommodations.

We are here for you! If you are a new or returning New River CTC student seeking access or accommodation support.

Protected Rights

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 ensure your rights.

Accommodations are offered for a variety of access needs, including but not limited to auditory and visual impairments, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities.

Begin by discussing your needs with the ADA Coordinator and complete the Self Identification Form and the How do I request ADA Services Packet.

You must provide up-to-date, formal documentation from a healthcare professional, outlining your condition and its impact, as well as suggesting necessary accommodations.

We make modifications to make our programs and facilities accessible, ensuring you have equal opportunities.

It’s best to initiate this process several weeks before the semester starts, to set the stage for your academic success.

Should you encounter discrimination related to your access needs, please report it to the ADA Coordinator.
