Sign Language II class scheduled for Summersville

[SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va.] New River Community and Technical College is offering a six-week Sign Language II class on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. starting March 21 on the Nicholas County Campus, Summersville.

Students will build on an introduction to sign language and continue learning ASL/finger spelling, introduction of ABC’s, numbers, basic signs, family signs, education signs, daily living signs and food signs. Participants will learn over 100 ASL words and how to communicate with one another through basic sentences.  This class will provide an introduction of deaf culture to give students a better understanding of sign language. 

The cost for the class is $80, and pre-registration for the course is required by Monday, March 19, 2018.
