Rug braiding class scheduled in Summersville

[SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va.] New River Community and Technical College is offering a one-day rug braiding class in Summersville on Monday, June 25 from noon to 3 p.m. 

Mindy Bennett will lead the class. She is the owner of The Wood Shop in WV, an e-commerce store, and has been making crafts including wood products, painted items, and braided rugs for approximately 30 years. Bennett will teach students her technique using old flat sheets. The end result can be as small as a pot holder or as large as an area rug.

Pre-registration is required by Thursday, June 21, and the cost for the class is $35. 

New River CTC’s Workforce Education Division provides employable educational opportunities including noncredit courses, workforce development programs and customized training.
