Advisors

If you’re pursuing a degree at New River CTC, you’ll be assigned an Advisor once you are fully admitted to the College. Your Advisor will help you with your course schedule, explaining academic policies, degree requirements and your academic records.

Students may initially identify their Advisor’s name by locating it on the student profile page of Banner.
1. Log in to My New River Portal
2. Click on Banner 9 – Student Profile
3. Your Advisor’s name will be listed near the bottom center of the main Student Profile page. Once you know your Advisor’s name, you can use Microsoft Bookings (see link above) to schedule an appointment or you can send your Advisor an email with any questions and to introduce yourself.

Students are expected to consult with their Advisors during faculty office hours.  Advisors are expected to give students careful guidance in the pursuit of their studies at the College.


Unofficial Transcripts

Students should bring a current copy of their unofficial transcript to their advising appointments. To print your unofficial transcript:

1. Log in to the My New River Portal
2. Click on Banner 9 – Student Profile
3. Click on Academic Transcript (bottom left of main Student Profile page)

Depending on your Internet browser, you may need to press CTRL+P on your keyboard to bring up the print menu.

Class Schedule

Once registered, students may view and print their class schedule through Self-Service Banner:

1. Log in to the My New River Portal
2. Click on Banner 9 – Student Profile
3. Click on Student Schedule or Week at a Glance (bottom left of main Student Profile page)
