New River CTC Volleyball 4 Autism Event Raises Awareness and Funds for Autism Research

[BECKLEY, WV] – New River Community and Technical College is proud to announce the success of the Volleyball 4 Autism event held on April 20, 2024, at the Memorial Baptist Church Gymnasium. This exciting event brought together participants from New River CTC and members from across the community to raise awareness and funds for autism research through the organization Applied Behavior Learning Center (ABLC).

The event featured competitive teams made up of students, faculty, and staff from New River CTC, local community members, local sheriffs, the Premier Wrestling League, and the Special Olympics. Students in New River CTC’s Social Services program assisted in planning this project as a part of their learning application.

In addition to the volleyball tournament, the event featured an auction, raffle, and door prizes, with all proceeds going towards autism research. The generous contributions from participants and sponsors helped make the event a resounding success.
