New River CTC partners with Erma Byrd Higher Education Center for open house

[BEAVER, W.Va.] New River Community and Technical College is partnering with the Erma Byrd Higher Education Center Complex in Beaver for an open house on Wednesday, July 25 from 4 to 7 p.m.

Faculty and staff from New River CTC will be on-site to talk to students about degree opportunities along with representatives from Bluefield State College, Concord University and Marshall University.

“Many people don’t realize all that community colleges have to offer,” explained Director of Enrollment Services Tracy Evans. “This event will allow potential students to see first-hand how that they can start at New River CTC and prepare for a career or plan to transfer to a four-year institution to continue their education.”

New River CTC offers more than 60 degree and certificate programs at the campus in Beaver and has guaranteed admissions agreements with both Bluefield State and Concord, making it easier for students to transfer.

Preregistration is not required for this free community event. Refreshments and activities will be available for attendees and their families.
