[GHENT, WV] – New River Community and Technical College is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of Jeremy Oberly, who has successfully graduated from the CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) program and passed his licensure test. Jeremy’s accomplishment underscores the effectiveness of New River CTC’s comprehensive training and the opportunities it opens for students in the rapidly growing transportation industry.
The CDL program at New River CTC is a six-week course designed to provide students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel as professional truck drivers. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges and responsibilities of a career in commercial driving.
This achievement is a testament to the power of collaboration among several West Virginia organizations. New River Community and Technical College provided the CDL class, WV Rehabilitation Services covered the tuition, Workforce West Virginia referred the student, and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine/Center for Rural and Community Health and Appalachian Regional Commission Inspire Initiative grant developed the program that initiated this effort. This collaborative endeavor highlights how no single agency could have achieved this milestone independently. These collaborations enhance educational offerings and provide students with diverse opportunities for learning and growth. By working together with esteemed partners, New River CTC offers a well-rounded educational experience that prepares graduates for success in their chosen fields.
