New River Community and Technical College Offers Six-Week CNA Class in Mercer County

[BLUEFIELD, WV] – New River Community and Technical College is excited to announce the offering of a six-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class at the historic Granada Theater in Bluefield. This class is designed to prepare students to take their certification exam, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the nursing field.

Event Details

·     Class Start Date: June 24

·     Schedule: Monday and Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

·     Classroom Portion End Date: July 15

·     Clinical Portion Start Date: July 29

·     Orientation: Tentatively scheduled for June 21

·     Location: Raleigh Street Cinema

“This program is about giving students the best start in nursing to help them establish their career and to help the community as they apply what they learn in caring for others,” explained Instructor Michelle Johnson.

The CNA class will feature in-person lectures, a lab, and a clinical component, providing comprehensive training for aspiring nursing assistants. This class is open to everyone, including students, employees, and members of the community who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing. There is no cost for the class, only minimal costs for background testing.
