New River Community and Technical College Announces Evening Phlebotomy Course at Raleigh County Campus

[BECKLEY, WV] – New River Community and Technical College is excited to announce the return of the evening Phlebotomy course this Fall at our Raleigh County Campus. This highly anticipated class provides an exceptional opportunity for individuals seeking to advance their healthcare careers and become certified phlebotomists. After several years without offering an evening option, we are thrilled to meet the growing demand and provide this opportunity to our community.

The Principles of Phlebotomy course (MDST 120) is offered as a Face-to-Face Web Enhanced class, scheduled on Wednesdays from 5:30 PM to 8:20 PM. Additionally, the Principles of Phlebotomy Lab (MDST-121L) is offered as a Traditional class, scheduled on Fridays from 5:30 PM to 7:20 PM.

To be eligible for certification, students must enroll in and successfully complete both MDST 120 and MDST-121L. Upon completion, students will be fully equipped to pursue certification and employment opportunities as phlebotomists.

“We are delighted to bring back the evening Phlebotomy class due to the frequent inquiries and high demand. This course offers flexibility for those balancing work and other responsibilities while providing a clear pathway to certification and employment in a vital healthcare role,” said Morgan Hamby, Director of the MLT program at New River Community and Technical College.

Space is limited, so we encourage interested students to register as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to gain the skills and certification needed for a fulfilling career in the healthcare industry.
