Tiffanie Snyder joined the faculty of New River CTC as an instructor of Allied Health at the Raleigh County Campus five years ago. She teaches classes and oversees clinicals while coordinating the Raleigh County Campus of the New River CTC Practical Nursing Program. A resident of Raleigh County, Snyder has seventeen years’ experience in nursing with a certification in nephrology nursing. Snyder first earned a degree in Practical Nursing from the Academy of Careers and Technology in Beckley, then an associate degree in nursing from Bluefield State College and a bachelor’s degree in nursing from West Virginia University, graduating Cum Laude. She will be attending graduate school to pursue a master’s degree in nursing.
JoAnna Perry, Director of the Practical Nursing Program, has over twenty years of nursing experience. She received her associate degree in nursing from Pikeville University, bachelor’s degree in nursing from West Virginia University and a master’s in nursing from West Virginia Wesleyan College with a major in Nursing Education. Perry has taught in the LPN program for ten years. Her areas of specialty include nursing education, emergency/trauma nursing, and pediatrics. Her areas of interest include developing safe nurse practices and the use of simulation in nursing education. Perry is a member of the National League for Nursing, the Future of Nursing WV Education Team and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Her favorite quote is “In all that you do, reflect the excellence that’s in you” by Martin Luther King, Jr.
Vanessa Bailey is a RN. She earned her LPN in 1982 and holds a bachelor’s in nursing from West Virginia University and has nine years of allied health teaching experience. She has spent much of her career in hospital nursing. She understand the importance of preparation, hard work and respect in the healthcare field and applies these values to her teaching. Bailey enjoys the outdoors; her chocolate lab, Mocha; two dachshunds, Tootsie and Vienna; and her nine chickens.
