Description

The medical machine transcription program is a two-semester certificate program that prepares students with the knowledge and hands-on training needed to work in medical transcription including: sound office practice, medical terminology, introduction to medical records, machine transcription, English language skills, keyboarding and formatting skills and word processing computer application skills.

Students who complete the program are prepared to fill positions in health care settings, such as: physicians’ offices, clinic/group practice offices, nursing home/home health practice offices and acute care hospital offices. Many people employed in the field of medical transcription work from home.
