New River Community and Technical College is holding Registration Day events during the first week in January to help students get registered for spring classes, and the New River CTC Foundation is holding a scholarship contest to help new students pay for tuition.
“New River CTC’s tuition is significantly less than other areas schools, so $1,000 goes a long way toward helping a student achieve their dream of earning a degree or workforce certificate,” said Interim Executive Director of the Foundation Michael Green.
Registration Days are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the campus in Summersville and the campus in Lewisburg on Wednesday, January 3; the campus in Beaver on Thursday, January 4; and the campus in Princeton on Friday, January 5. January 5 is the last day to register for spring 2018 classes starting January 16.
To be eligible for the $1,000 scholarship, a student must initiate the registration process during one of the Registration Day events. The scholarship winner will be chosen through a random drawing and announced prior to the start of the spring semester.
The registration events give current students an opportunity to register for spring classes and new or previously enrolled students a chance to take their first steps regarding admissions and/or registration. Enrollment services, business office, financial aid and Student Success Center representatives will be on hand to assist students. Students needing to take the placement exam should arrive no later than 2 p.m.
