The Phlebotomy Technician program is a one semester program providing students with the training needed to fill entry-level phlebotomy technician positions. Students must successfully complete the national phlebotomy exam to receive the technical certificate.

Program Learning Outcomes
- Provide educational and technical experiences that enable graduates to successfully complete the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician examination and obtain employment in a variety of healthcare settings in entry-level phlebotomy technician positions.
- Ensure students develop the academic and technical skills needed to pass the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician examination and enter the workforce as a phlebotomist or healthcare professional.
- 80% of students will successfully pass the NHA Certified Phlebotomy Technician examination.
To be eligible for admission into this program, students must meet the general requirements for admission to New River Community and Technical College.
