New River Community and Technical College provides Heating, Ventilation, and Air
Conditioning (HVAC) training in newly remodeled space at the Advanced Technology Center
in Ghent, W.Va. The new space features refrigeration, heating and air conditioning, and sheet
metal labs.
Students interested in a career in the HVAC field can earn an Associate of Applied Science in
the field in four semesters. New River CTC’s HVAC training includes OSHA 10 Certification,
West Virginia EPA Certification and HVAC technician test preparation. Students who
successfully complete the program will gain experience in working with:
• Gas heat, heat pumps, electric and hydronic heating systems.
• Residential and commercial ice machines and refrigeration.
• Sheet metal and duct board duct systems.
• Plumbing, brazing, soldering, and Zoom Lock.
