Health Professions Pathway: Physical Therapist Assistant CAS
The Certificate of Applied Science in Health Professions: Physical Therapist Assistant Pathway is designed to provide the student with a pathway to prepare for application to the Physical Therapist Assistant (AAS) program. These courses will provide the student with foundational knowledge preparing for entry-level positions in health care.

Program Learning Outcomes
- Provide a pathway to prepare students for application to the Physical Therapist Assistant (AAS) program through foundational courses that prepare for entry-level positions in health care.
- Ensure students develop the academic and technical skills needed to meet prerequisites and succeed in the PTA program.
- 50% of students will successfully enter the PTA program.
To be eligible for admission into this program, students must meet the general requirements for admission to New River Community and Technical College.
