PROGRAMS IN DEVELOPEMENT

New River CTC develops programs based on the needs in our region to serve community members and support local employers. New River CTC is exploring adding the programs listed below to the College's degree and certificate program offerings.

AMTS

New River CTC is developing a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) with an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating. The program will support manufacturing and innovation initiatives by working with the Raleigh County Memorial Airport and the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority.

Certificated A&P Mechanics perform a variety of tasks related to the inspection, maintenance, and repair of aircraft. These tasks include inspecting mechanical and structural components of an aircraft, performing routine maintenance on aircraft engines, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, electrical systems, electronic systems. The program will focus on fixed-wing aircraft.

CNC Machining

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machining is a computerized manufacturing process where pre-programmed software and code control the movement of production equipment. New River CTC is developing this curriculum to meet the needs of regional employers.

Electrical Technology

New River CTC is developing this program in partnership with Greenbrier County Schools. The program will be offered in Lewisburg.

Industrial Laboratory Technician

New River CTC is researching development of a certificate program for research and manufacturing to meet the needs of regional employers.

HVAC

New River CTC is developing both an associate of applied science along with a workforce education class in HVAC Technology (Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning) that will be offered at the Advanced Technology Center in Ghent. The program will provide students with the technical knowledge and skills needed in the heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Paramedic to ADN

New River CTC is developing a paramedic to associate degree in nursing to prepare those working as a paramedic to train for a career as a registered nurse. The program will be offered at the Raleigh County Campus in Beaver.

Surgical Technician

New River CTC is working to develop a certificate of applied science for those interested in working as a surgical technician to meet the needs of regional employers.
