College program partners with schools to provide free haircuts to students

[LEWSIBURG, W.Va.] New River Community and Technical College’s Cosmetology Program Salon has partnered with Greenbrier County schools to provide free haircuts to students.

“We’re glad to be able to help our area students with this service,” explained Instructional Specialist of Cosmetology Lisa Carter. “New River CTC’s Cosmetology Program Salon gives our students significant amounts of hands-on experience, and it’s heartwarming to be able to have our students use that experience to help youth in our community.”

Students wanting to receive haircuts must contact their school principal for information on the agreement and to obtain a permission form. Individual schools are working with New River CTC’s cosmetology program to schedule times for students from their institution.

New River CTC is currently accepting applications for fall for personal services programs offered in Lewisburg including barbering, cosmetology, esthetics, nail care technician and massage therapy.
