[BEAVER, W.Va.] New River Community and Technical College recognized their sixteenth class of practical nursing graduates on July 18 during a ceremony at the Raleigh County Campus in Beaver.
The practical nursing class of 2019 includes: Cyndy Asamoah, Mount Hope; Kaley Bailey, Crab Orchard; Kelsea Bennett, Ansted; Traci Frazer, Craigsville; Jerica Gyurek, Crab Orchard; Jaqueline Harris, Cowen; Ami Hedrick, Rupert; Jordan Holleman, Bluefield; Andrea Johnson, Cowen; Mary Kelley, Dunmore; Luigi Malabanan, Beckley; Jazmine Marshall, White Sulphur Springs; Sharon Martin, Leivasy; Stacy McMillion, Shady Spring; Rebekah Morgan, Ronceverte; Connor Pyles, Hillsboro; Summer Rose, Webster Springs; Khaaliq Saunders, Beckley; Renee Marie Smith, Ronceverte; Miranda Steele, Bluefield; Marla Taylor, Summersville; Kimber Thorpe, Craigsville; Cassie VanNatter, Meadow Bridge; and Lindsey Wynes, Beckley.
During the ceremony, the college recognized Cassie VanNatter as the practical nursing academic student of the year, Renee Smith as the Greenbrier Valley Campus practical nursing clinical student of the year, Marla Taylor as the Nicholas County Campus practical nursing clinical student of the year and Khaaliq Saunders as the Raleigh County Campus practical nursing clinical student of the year.
New River CTC’s Certificate of Applied Science in Practical Nursing program is offered at the college’s campuses in Lewisburg, Summersville and Beaver and can be completed in 11 months. The program prepares students for career pathways allowing credits to transfer into more advanced nursing programs.
