Advanced Technology Center
The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) at New River Community and Technical College works in partnership with the College's Center for Workforce Education to provide a variety of customized programs to address the need for a highly skilled workforce. Business and community leaders across the region serve as advisors to our administration, which ensures our programs are in-sync with their needs.
Located in Ghent, West Virginia, our 93,000 square foot facility is being used to train workers for high demand and high paying occupations. Programs being offered at the ATC fall under five categories:

Business Opportunity Center - Business Planning, Entrepreneurship Development, Leadership Training, Marketing Assistance, and Networking & Showcasing
Green Building Technologies - Building Construction, Horticulture & Landscaping, HVAC, Masonry, Plumbing, Residential Electrical, and Weatherization
Manufacturing - Hydraulics & Pneumatics, Flexible Manufacturing, Lean/Six Sigma/TQM, Machining, Motor Controls/PLC/CNC, and Welding & Pipefitting
Mining & Energy - Building Energy Codes, Electrician Certification, GIS & Surveying, Line Service Mechanic, Mine Foreman Training, Mine Safety (40 hour), Mine Safety (80 hour). Solar Photovoltaic, and Wind
Transportation & Distribution - Automotive & Diesel Technology, Commercial Drivers License, Heavy Equipment Operation, and Traffic Management & Dispatch
Line Service Mechanic Program - The 900 clock hour program consists of three modules (300 clock hours each) which are designed to prepare men and women to construct, install and repair electrical distribution, telephone and cable television transmissions systems.
