New River Accepting Applications for Paramedic Certificate Program

New River Community and Technical College is now accepting applications for its Paramedic Certificate Program. Classes for the 2012-13 cohort will begin in May, 2012, but interested applicants will need to take pre-entry exams and complete the screening process to include background checks, health and drug screenings as well as other application paperwork prior to the Cohort start.

The Paramedic Certificate program is an intensive one-year certificate program designed to prepare students for careers as paramedics in a variety of healthcare settings as well as preparing and making them eligible to participate in the National Registry for EMT' s testing program leading to national certification. The curriculum provides students with classroom, lab, field, and clinical experiences in a variety of emergency care environments and facilities.
