New River Accepting Applications for EMT- Intermediate Certificate Program

[BECKLEY, W. VA.] New River Community and Technical College is now accepting applications for its EMT - Intermediate Certificate Program for the spring 2012 semester. Classes will begin in February at the Jan-Care training center in Beckley, WV. Interested applicants will need to take pre-entry exams and complete the screening process to include background checks, health and drug screenings as well as other application paperwork prior to the program start.

The EMT-Intermediate Certificate program is an intensive two-semester certificate program designed to prepare students for careers as EMT-Intermediates in the pre-hospital care setting, as well as preparing and making them eligible to participate in the National Registry for EMT Testing program leading to national certification.

The curriculum provides students with classroom, lab, field, and clinical experiences in a variety of emergency care environments and facilities.
