New River CTC Summer Program for Kids Features Law and Order Theme

[LEWISBURG, W. VA.] Future crime fighters are in for an exciting three days at the New River Community and Technical College Summer Scholars program that will take July 23-25 at the Greenbrier Valley Campus in Lewisburg and July 30-Aug. 1 at the Raleigh County Campus in Beckley.

The law-and-order-themed program will run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day and will feature guest speakers, fingerprinting and crime scene investigating. It is recommended for children ages 6-12.

The Greenbrier Valley Campus program will take place at the New River CTC Lee Street Complex (former Lewisburg Elementary School). In addition to participating in on-campus activities, the attendees will take field trips to the Lewisburg Police Department and the Greenbrier County Court House to witness the law and order process first hand.

The Raleigh County Campus program will take place at the campus located at 167 Dye Drive in the Harper Industrial Park in Beckley.

The $125 tuition includes a tee shirt, snacks and lunch. Space is limited, and preregistration is required. For more information or to register, call (304) 883-2446.

College Closed Monday

New River CTC will be closed Monday, September 1, in observance of Labor Day.  Classes will resume and offices will re-open on Tuesday.
