[SUMMERSVILLE, W. VA.] New River Community and Technical College will offer a class in Herbal First Aid on Saturday, April 12, from noon until 2 p.m. at the WV Workforce Building on Northside Drive in Summersville, W. Va. Tuition is $15.
The instructor, Sherry Ratliff, is nationally certified in therapeutic massage and bodywork. She also is knowledgeable about prenatal and postnatal care, nutrition, yoga, Reiki and herbal medicines.
A genealogy class, Finding Your Roots, will meet from 6-9 p.m. each Monday for six weeks beginning April 14 at the WV Workforce Building. The class will end on May 19. Tuition is $80.
The instructor, Denise Freeman, became interested in genealogy while attending WV Tech. She learned how to research in archives, tombstones, census records, courthouse records and libraries. She is also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and is currently a social studies teacher at Nicholas County High School.
