[Summersville, W. Va.] New River Community and Technical College will offer a hands-on workshop on April 14 to help you get to know your sewing machine. The workshop will be held from 6-8 p.m. at the Workforce Building on Northside Drive in Summersville, W. Va.
If you enjoy sewing but you get frustrated when because your machine is not cooperating, this is the class for you. Instructor Connie Ridgeway will cover topics including the machine, proper threads to use, needles and fabrics. If you have a machine, bring it to class with you so she can be specific to your machine. If you do not have a sewing machine, attend class anyway. Ridgeway will be happy to make suggestions about picking out your own machine.
Connie Ridgeway is a long-time sewing and quilting enthusiast who sells some of her beautiful products at Tamarack in Beckley. She has also attended several juried craft shows and has displayed her products throughout West Virginia and Kentucky. She brings more than 40 years of experience and knowledge to the classroom.
