Intermediate Quilting Workshop Begins April 1 at New River CTC Greenbrier Valley Campus

[LEWISBURG, W. VA.] New River Community and Technical College will offer a six-week Intermediate Quilting Workshop beginning April 1. The workshop will be held on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Lee Street Complex (former Lewisburg Elementary School) of the Greenbrier Valley Campus in Lewisburg, W. Va.

This workshop will benefit both the intermediate and experienced quilter. It will include sections on piecing, using rotary cutters, reading and using rulers and pattern reading. Participants will receive a kit that includes fabric and a book. Students will complete a quilt top from a design in the book Quilts for El's Kitchen by Eleanor Burns.

Tuition is $100, and there is a required $180 kit fee. The deadline to register is March 14 to allow time for ordering kits.

Moving Celebration

In celebration of the new Mercer County Campus, the college will be having a moving celebration outside the new location at 1001 Mercer Street in downtown Princeton on Thursday, July 31 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on that day.  There will be lemonade and cookies as well as staff available to answer questions about plans for the campus and to assist with registering for classes.
