New River Offers Introduction to Adobe Photoshop Class in Summersville

[Summersville, W. Va.] New River Community and Technical College will offer a two-session Introduction to Photoshop class at the Nicholas County Campus in Summersville, W. Va., from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on March 15 and 22.

This class is ideal for professional photographers who would like to offer better images to their clients as well as hobby photographers wishing to enhance their images.

Instructor Mark Allen has been photographing area nature, underwater life and scenic photography for more than 30 years. He began in print photography but transitioned to digital photography as it became more popular. He uses Adobe Photoshop to enhance images and add interesting effects.

This seminar and lab-based course is designed to introduce students to Adobe Photoshop, but will also briefly touch upon Adobe Bride and Adobe Camera Raw. Students will learn how to use layers, layer adjustments, curves, selections, masking, plug-ins, color management, special effects and compositing.

Moving Celebration

In celebration of the new Mercer County Campus, the college will be having a moving celebration outside the new location at 1001 Mercer Street in downtown Princeton on Thursday, July 31 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on that day.  There will be lemonade and cookies as well as staff available to answer questions about plans for the campus and to assist with registering for classes.
