NEW RIVER GVC PARAMEDIC PROGRAM ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SPRING SMESTER COHORT

[LEWISBURG, W. VA.] The EMT-Paramedic Certificate Program at the Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River Community and Technical College is currently accepting applications for a new cohort that will begin classes on Jan. 13. Classes are held at New River's Lee Street Complex in Lewisburg, W. Va.

Interested applicants will need to take pre-entry exams and complete the screening process to include background checks, health and drug screenings as well as other application paperwork prior to the cohort start. Students planning to apply for financial aid should submit the Free Applications for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) right away.

The Paramedic Certificate program is an intensive four-semester certificate program designed to prepare students for careers as paramedics in a variety of healthcare settings as well as preparing and making them eligible to participate in the National Registry for EMTs testing program leading to national certification. The curriculum provides students with classroom, lab, field and clinical experiences in a variety of emergency care environments and facilities. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Accreditation Presentations

Makeup sessions have been scheduled for the three Accreditation Self-Study presentations that were cancelled. They will be Monday, Oct. 13, 10 to 11:30 a.m., Advanced Technology Center; Monday, Oct. 13, 5 to 6:30 p.m., Raleigh County Campus; and Friday, Oct. 17, 2 to 3:30 p.m., Nicholas County Campus.
