New River Offers Personal Financial Planning Class in Summersville

[Summersville, W. Va.] The New River Community and Technical College Office of Workforce Education will offer a one-session class on managing personal finances on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 6-9 p.m. at the Workforce West Virginia Building, 830 Northside Drive in Summersville, W. Va.

Instructor Ralph Kelly is a volunteer presenter with the nonprofit agency First Command Educational Foundation. He brings a wealth of knowledge in personal finance gleaned from a career in the military during which he spent six years as an Army Budget Officer and Program Manager. He also has been an instructor in private personal finance at the high school and collegiate level. This informative course will cover topics including Investment, Insurance, Savings, Debt Management, Goal Setting, Budget Concepts and Keys to Success.

The first 10 full-time New River students to sign up will be admitted free. Tuition is $25 for all others. Please call (304) 883-2446 with any questions or to register.

Moving Celebration

In celebration of the new Mercer County Campus, the college will be having a moving celebration outside the new location at 1001 Mercer Street in downtown Princeton on Thursday, July 31 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on that day.  There will be lemonade and cookies as well as staff available to answer questions about plans for the campus and to assist with registering for classes.
