Each degree-pursuing student, upon entrance to the College, is assigned a faculty advisor in his/her major field of study when possible. The advisor renders academic assistance by aiding in the preparation of course schedules, explaining academic regulations, indicating degree requirements, and maintaining cumulative academic records on each advisee. Students are expected to consult with their advisors during faculty office hours. Advisors are expected to give students careful guidance in the pursuance of their studies at the College. The method for changing an advisor is to consult with the current and newly identified advisors and submit the “Change of Advisors” form to the campus Student Services Office. Ordinarily, students may not change advisors without also making a change of major or program. Special attention is given to provide career exploration for undecided students. |
