Please get an application from your campus student services office and meet with your faculty advisor as soon as possible. The application deadline is March 31, 2010. Commencement will be 2PM on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the Beckley/Raleigh County Convention Center. Weather LinesThe College has four campus Weather Lines which you may call to find out the current status of any possible weather-related closures. Those numbers are: Beckley and Raleigh County = 304-929-5483 Alert SystemIf you haven't yet registered for the College's Alert Messaging System, we strongly encourage you to do so. Once you've registered you'll receive any emergency messages directly on your cell phone (or as an email if you prefer that). Weather-related closings are communicated this way. We expect to award scholarships in excess of $60,000 during the 2010-2011 academic year. Applications (Beckley/Raleigh County, Greenbrier Valley, Mercer County, Nicholas County) and descriptions are available in the Student Services Office on each New River campus and high schools in our service region. The deadline for submitting your proposal is March 31, 2010 and the online Call for Proposals (PDF) is available so that you can type in your information and then print and submit it. Virtual Bookstore (more info)New River has implemented a "virtual bookstore" in an effort to improve this service for students. Rather than waiting in line at one of our five campus locations, students will be able to browse, select, and order books online and they will be shipped to your home address within 2 days to 3 weeks (depending on the shipping method selected). |
