We are pleased that you have shown interest in our College and our Campus. While our campus is in Lewisburg, our focus for providing educational services, both to individuals and businesses, is the whole region associated with the Greenbrier Valley. Our service region extends from Snowshoe Resort in the North, to the Town of Peterstown in the south, the Alleghany Highlands of Virginia in the east, and the Town of Hinton in the west. Greenbrier Valley Campus student population includes both citizens of small towns and of the rural country side. We have the best of all possible settings, small-town art communities, such as Lewisburg, world famous resorts, such as The Greenbrier and Snowshoe, all set among some of the most breath taking panoramic views to be found anywhere in the world. Once again welcome to our community.
Facilities The main campus location for the Greenbrier Valley Campus is Greenbrier Hall which is located in downtown Lewisburg. Greenbrier Hall is a 48,000 sq ft. facility in Academy Park, which consists of North House Museum, Carnegie Hall, and the Greenbrier County Library. All the facilities, with the exception of the Greenbrier County Library, were part of the facilities of the Greenbrier Womenâs College. The Lewisburg Campus of New River proudly carries on the tradition of serving the population of the Greenbrier Valley which started with the Greenbrier Womenâs College. Greenbrier Hall was renovated in the mid-1990s and the first classes were taught in the facility in the spring of 1998. The community was instrumental in raising the funds necessary for the extensive renovations. The Greenbrier Community College Foundation was the lead agency responsible for raising the funds necessary to provide our students with a world class facility. Greenbrier Hall is completely ADA compliant. It houses nine class rooms-most with tables and chairs to accommodate adult students, state of the art biology and physical science laboratories, two computer classrooms, two computer labs for student use, a 91 seat auditorium, a full service library and bookstore, a well appointed student center, a Learning Resource Center, and all administrative and faculty offices. The Machine Tool Technology Center is located in Caldwell, WV. The Machine Tool Technology Center houses both our machining program and welding programs. Both programs are high demand programs for our area and have very high placement rates for students who complete the program. Jefferson Office Park provides additional classrooms for general instruction. It is located a block and a half from Greenbrier Hall. In addition to the classroom space, Jefferson Office Park is the location for the Center for Workforce and Business Development. The CWBD hosts several additional programs such as SCORE, SBDA, TRANSCOM Aviation, and the very successful ELDERHOSTEL program. In addition to these offices there is a full appointed training room, which hosts the Adult Basic Education program. Salisbury Farm was a gift of 47 acres of land to the Greenbrier Valley Campus. The farm is located less than a 1/4 of a mile from the main campus. It is the future home of the Technology Center for the Lewisburg Campus of New River Community and Technical College.
The Lewisburg Campus is a host for nearly all the programs that New River Community and Technical College offers, with only a few exceptions. The implementation of the License Practical Nursing Program to Lewisburg is in the planning stages as of this posting. In addition we host to several unique programs, such as the Machine Tool Technology Program and the GEFANC Controls Program. In the near future we hope to expand our offerings to include the Building Construction Trades and an AA degree in Fine Arts. The expansion of these programs will be a boon to the Greenbrier Valley Campus and to New River. For complete details on academic programs click College Catalog , or call 304.647.6565.
