The New River Community and Technical College Foundation was established in 2007 to address a number of challenges being faced by our institution. But there is just one, truly simple purpose for our existence: the people of southeastern West Virginia need convenient access to high quality, affordable higher education and the Foundation will ensure that we can provide it. We are an organization devoted to advancing educational opportunities. New River needs new and upgraded facilities. Our students need financial help to achieve success. We need laboratories for learning. We need the best instructors available. The people of southeastern West Virginia deserve nothing less. Without your help, we will not meet our goals and, consequently, our students will have more difficulty meeting theirs. As the state's newest college, New River has worked to garner the respect it holds among present and prospective students, faculty, parents and members of our communities. We have grown leaps and bounds and there is no question that we will grow well beyond our current capabilities in a few short years. To overcome this pivotal dilemma, we have formulated a dynamic ten-year facilities master plan. The plan includes dramatic changes and additions to our current facilities. When completed, the plan will enable us to accommodate the 6,000 students New River is projected to enroll - more than triple the current figure. The New River Foundation will be seeking funding from a number of sources. We will apply for grants and other government funding sources and we will hold events and other fundraisers. But ultimately, our success depends entirely upon people like you. Regardless of the level of support we have from government, without financial support from our communities we will fail in our mission. We will use the funds in three distinct ways:
Ultimately, each penny we raise will be devoted to our mission: to improve lives and enrich our communities. As an independent 501(c) (3) organization, your gift to the foundation is 100 percent tax deductible. As a community and technical college, New River communicates directly with business and industry to ascertain current and future requirements for employment. We use this information to develop programs that will directly and immediately impact the employment market. By offering programs responsive to industry demands and standard college curriculums, New River is able to develop a margin of excellence over traditional colleges. The foundation will provide the funding needed to continue our unique academic vision. New River has made great strides since its inception, and with the help of its communities, we can continue our vital mission. By donating to the foundation you are doing much more than ensuring we are able to provide educational opportunities - you will be contributing to a stronger future for southeastern West Virginia. |
