Electric Distribution Engineering Technology, formerly known as Line Service Maintenance, draws regular attention from local employers. Our Automotive and Welding programs are regurally highlighted in the local media. Our most recent programmatic addition is, Industrial Technology (also known as Electro-Mechanical Instrumentation.) Our high placement rates are a direct result of the quality of instruction coupled with the relationship that we enjoy with our many business and industry partners. Workforce programs such as Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Heavy Equipment, and Welding are also taught at the Advanced Technology Center.

Our 93,000 square foot facility was dedicated in October 2010 and is located directly beside I-77 at the Ghent exit. For those interested in extended workforce training, we are conveniently located near several hotels and resorts. We assist our region in addressing the demands for a well-trained and educated workforce. Most importantly, we help ensure that local students and citizens have the best possible career opportunities in the new millennium.

Again, we thank you for being part of the New River Community and Technical College community!

Greenbrier Valley Campus Facilities

Greenbrier Hall is the main building for the Greenbrier Valley Campus which is located in downtown Lewisburg. Greenbrier Hall is a 48,000 sq ft. facility in Academy Park, which consists of North House Museum, Carnegie Hall, and the Greenbrier County Library. All the facilities, with the exception of the Greenbrier County Library, were part of the facilities of the Greenbrier Women's College. The Greenbrier Valley Campus of New River proudly carries on the tradition of serving the population of the Greenbrier Valley which started with the Greenbrier Women's College. Greenbrier Hall was renovated in the mid-1990s and the first classes were taught in the facility in the spring of 1998. The community was instrumental in raising the funds necessary for the extensive renovations. The Greenbrier Community College Foundation was the lead agency responsible for raising the funds necessary to provide our students with a world class facility. Greenbrier Hall is completely ADA compliant. It houses seven classrooms - most with tables and chairs to accommodate adult students, state of the art biology and physical science laboratories, one computer classroom, one computer lab for student use, a 91 seat auditorium, a full service library, the cosmetology and massage therapy classrooms and labs, a Learning Resource Center, and all administrative and faculty offices and the Office of Workforce Education In addition to these offices there is a fully appointed training room, which hosts the Adult Basic Education program.

The Machine Tool Technology Center is located on Fairview Road in Lewisburg. The Machine Tool Technology Center houses both our machining program and welding programs. Both programs are high demand programs for our area and have very high placement rates for students who complete the program. The Greenbrier Valley Campus Welding program is the only accredited test facility in the West Virginia. Students who successfully complete their certification testing will receive internationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society.
