Student Services

Welcome to New River Community and Technical College! To help you have a successful college experience, we offer services to assist you at four campuses in Beckley/Beaver, Princeton, Lewisburg and Summersville.  Services are also provided at our Advanced Technology Center location in Ghent, WV. We try to accommodate your busy schedule with services at each location everyday and evening hours as advertised. Our professional staff will assist you with admission to the college, career assessment, paying for college (financial aid opportunities), academic advising and class scheduling, career planning and placement, as well as placement testing and free tutoring.

In addition to our classes and academic services, New River Community and Technical College is offering a growing selection of student services in which to participate outside the classroom. From various areas on each campus for students to hang out to our Student Government Association, we offer students the opportunity to get more from their college experience outside of the classroom.

We are also open to starting new services for students, so if there’s nothing to your liking on your campus, suggest something! It’s never too late to start a new student organization or club at the college if there’s enough support around it. Don’t forget, we are always open to new ideas and suggestions from students in general, so don’t be afraid to tell us any ideas you might have to improve the college. We are here for you. Let us know what you need to make your college experience a great one!

Rely on multiple methods of communication regarding the College’s Inclement Weather decisions. The Alert Messaging System is one method of sharing information (New River CTC’s portal, email and text messaging). Other methods include posting here, on official College social media channels (Facebook and Twitter), campus weather lines and messages sent to local television and radio stations.
