A Student Recruiter will assist you in taking your next step and becoming a part of our New River family!

If you have submitted an Application for Admission and have questions or need assistance, please call the Office of Admissions on the campus you plan to attend. During peak enrollment times, please allow 24-48 hours for your call to be returned (July-August and November-January). You will receive an admit letter (addressed to your mailing address on your application) within 5-10 business days from processing your application detailing any outstanding requirements you have to be fully admitted.  If you require immediate assistance, please call the Office of Enrollment Services, 304-929-6720. If you would like to share how we can improve or discuss a complaint, please call the Director of Enrollment Services, (304) 929-5480.

The campus selected on the Application for Admission is where the Admission file will be housed, financial aid funds will be distributed (if eligible), and registration for classes will occur. The mailing address on the Application is where any official college correspondence will be mailed. Please make sure to update your address or telephone information if it changes at anytime with the Registrar's office, visit online FORMS or in person at the Registrar's Office at the Raleigh Co. campus. The Office of Admissions on any other campus may assist on behalf of the Registrar's Office.  An applicant should receive an admit letter within 5-10 business days from the time we receive and process the application. One week prior to the close of registration, if a personal email address is provided you will receive notification by email as well.

New Students are seen in the Office of Admissions initially before being assigned to a faculty advisor. The faculty advisor will work with the student to assist in advising and registration after the first schedule is prepared, during a period called "current student registration".

New students are seen by appointment for advising and registration and walk-ins may be worked in when our schedule permits (example: a cancellation occurs). Otherwise we will ask that you scheule an appointment for registration so that we may devote our time and attention to working with you. A future student is always welcome to stop by and pick up an application and get information on the steps to enrollment. You may also want to schedule a Career Assessment with the Student Success Center if you are not sure of what you would like to pursue or what major you will chose. New student registration begins after the designated specific current student registration period ends each semester (see Academic Calendar).

Fully admitted students (complete admission file) will be allowed to register during the first phase, priority registration. Information will be posted on Facebook and under our Orientation link regarding registration and postcards are mailed announcing registration dates. Please call to schedule your appointment once you are notified of your admission status and have completed your mandatory online student Orientation. You may also email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your name, campus, and telephone numbers to reach you before 4 p.m. and we will call you back with appointment choices.

Online orientation is open several weeks prior to the beginning of new student registration and is a requirement in order to register for classes. For more information, visit Student Orientation
