The New River Community and Technical College Board of Governors recently recognized five students who were awarded Carter Family Foundation Scholarships for the 2013-14 academic year. The students were introduced at the board's October meeting by New River Foundation Raleigh County Advisory Board member Larry Ford.

The Carter Family Foundation donated $25,000 to the New River Community and Technical College Foundation earlier this year to create scholarships for deserving students in the college's service area.

Moving Celebration

In celebration of the new Mercer County Campus, the college will be having a moving celebration outside the new location at 1001 Mercer Street in downtown Princeton on Thursday, July 31 from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. on that day.  There will be lemonade and cookies as well as staff available to answer questions about plans for the campus and to assist with registering for classes.
