Business and industry leaders serving southeastern West Virginia are in need of a highly skilled workforce.  A job-specific career and technical education program can greatly improve your chance of getting a great job right away.  New River Community and Technical College is committed to bridging the gap between the needs of business and industry and the citizens of our nine-county service area.

New River CTC has offered 40 Hour and 80 Hour Mining classes, Casino Table Games classes and Commercial Driver's License training programs.  We work closely with the local Workforce Investment Boards to ensure our program offerings meet the needs of our service area.

About the Advanced Technology Center

The Advanced Technology Center (ATC) at New River Community and Technical College works in partnership with the College's Center for Workforce Education to provide a variety of customized programs to address the need for a highly skilled workforce.  Business and community leaders across the region serve as advisors to our administration, which ensures our programs are in-sync with their needs.

Located in Ghent, West Virginia, our 93,000 square foot facility is being used to train workers for high demand and high paying occupations.  Programs being offered at the ATC fall under five categories: Business Opportunity Center, Green Building Technologies, Manufacturing, Mining and Energy, Transport and Distrubution, and Line Service Mechanic.


The Advanced Technology Center is enrolling students for the following program or trainings:
