LEARN TO MAKE A PILLOWCASE DRESS AT NEW RIVER WORKSHOP

[Summersville, W. Va.] There is a new trend in the world of fashion: pillowcase dresses. Many moms and grandmothers have seen these cute, fun dresses and wondered how to create one. New River Community and Technical College will provide a hands-on, one-day workshop on this topic Saturday, May 19, from 1-5 p.m. at the Workforce WV Building in Summersville, W. Va..

Connie Ridgeway will be the instructor. Each participant will leave with a custom pillowcase dress for a favorite little girl. Ridgeway is a sewing and quilting enthusiast who sells her beautiful products at Tamarack in Beckley. She brings years of experience and knowledge to the classroom.

Students may choose to make a dress from an actual pillowcase or using fabric, allowing them the opportunity to match the pattern to the personality of the child. Tuition is $25. Please contact the New River Office of Workforce Education at 304-872-4520 to register or with any questions. Preregistration is required as this class is expected to fill quickly.
