Our Beckley campus is the main campus of New River and has recently experienced incredible increases in enrollment. With many evening, online and even some weekend courses, there are many opportunities for students to find courses convenient to their schedules. We are also beginning the construction of a new campus in Beaver and plan to relocate there within two years.

Announcements
Bookstore Services
New River will implement a "virtual bookstore" on August 1, 2009 in an effort to improve this service for students. Rather than waiting in line at one of our five campus locations, students will be able to browse, select, and order books online and they will be shipped to your home address within 2 days to 3 weeks, depending on the shipping method selected (more information). Since classes begin on August 17, 2009 please order your books in early August when the site becomes available.
Summer and Fall 2009 Schedules
Course schedules for both Summer terms (200901 and 200902) and the Fall term (201001) are now available (updated July 1, 2009). The Summer I and 10-Week terms began on May 26, 2009 and the Summer II term began on June 29, 2009. The fall term begins on August 17, 2009.
Emergency Alert System
We strongly encourage all New River students, faculty, and staff to register for the College's Emergency Alert System. When you register you'll provide your cell phone number and in the event of an emergency you'll receive a text message on your phone. We also have a new group named College Announcements that we plan to use for non-emergency announcements related to College events. So please register or login to update your registration by going to the Alert System Registration Page. School closings and delays due to inclement weather are also communicated using the alert system.
